XV and XRANDR still need to be implemented. And of course there is still a lot of room for real 2D performance improvements :-)

Is it related to our issue?

Unless things have changed in the last year, it can control mouse and touch orientation.

I can't find that either in the manual or the source. Could you please point to any version of xrandr that handles input?

If xrandr can handle input rotation, why do all people seem to do it manually (xinput, xsetwacom etc.)?

Xrandr handles screen OUTPUT, and it is xinput that will handle the mouse or touchscreen. Please read the Linux man pages for xrandr.
Code: Select all
man xrandr

I know, I keep saying that all the time, even quoted the part of the manual that says so. It is you who said otherwise. Again your quote as a reminder:
Unless things have changed in the last year, it can control mouse and touch orientation.

I read the manual, I said so before and I even quoted it, what's the point in telling me to read it? An insult to my reading skills? Also, I wasted some good time (manual, source code) in pursuit of your unbased claim that xrandr somehow could handle input 'Unless things have changed in the last year' just to find out it never did (and never will).

I'm quite sure it's all a big misunderstanding-.-
Eg when Neal talked about xrandr I didn't instantly realise that it was completely broken and thought Neal expected it to rotate the input, too, that's the reason why I even started talking about xrandr and input.

Sorry for wasting your time (and mine). Not sure why you are pursuing this xrandr input thing, but as you said, it is a misunderstanding.

I have done screen/touchscreen/mouse rotation on other tablets, so I thought that I could help.

I will no-longer offer any help to you on this subject

 because, right after I wrote that xrandr does not rotate the input, you came along to tell that it indeed would handle mouse and touchscreen.
Then, for unknown reasons, you go on showing me how to write a script I just told I've already written myself (with xsetwacom instead of xinput). Topping the whole off with a suggestion to read the manual just after I said I've re-read it.
I thought that was a bit rich.
I apologize if any of this offends you, that was the experience from my side.

Since this discussion is of minor interest to any user I suggest we go on with more important stuff.

I think the underlying kernel from based on the Allwinner sources does not support rotation

Is that because we are on 3.0 and android merge begins with 3.3?

Edit:
Just saw that the linaro guys got a 3.4 development kernel, maybe that's worth a shot for testing because it should be almost identical to the corresponding android kernel (depending on how far development is).
/end Edit

The driver I referred to earlier seems to be a third alternative in addition to lima and mali drivers

Xrandr support to come up next.,.

First off, I hope you guys will relax a little and remember we are all on the same team here. We all want to see it work better.

Second, in response to the original post, I think I have found your rotation issue and have a page about it here http://pengpod.com/pengwiki/index.php?title=Corrupted_pointer_after_rotation_called_for

Let me know if that helps.
